...p hired a teacher named Beccarae Calato. She, like her Irish and Sicilian ancestors, had left all she’d ever known to venture to an unknown, faraway place in search of a better life and new opportunities for herself and her children, Jodi, Jamie and Jason Longbine. It was here that her passion for working with children flowered into a vocation, and would become the path she walked until her final days.
