OakDOT proposed a pilot project for traffic diverters on Hillegass Avenue and Colby Streets. After a contentious community meeting in December with 200+ attendees, OakDOT Director Josh Rowan paused the project and agreed to work with a community task force over the first three months of 2025 to develop traffic-calming solutions. The article noted the diversion issue was partly linked to the Safeway expansion on College Avenue.
